The mission of Harris Bilingual Elementary School's Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally age-appropriate school counseling program that is aligned with the ASCA National Standards for school counseling programs and accessible to all students. We focus on the education of all students in academic, career, and personal/social development in collaborative partnership with parents/guardians, school staff, and members of the community. Harris Bilingual School will provide an environment that is positive, safe for all students, skills for good citizenship, life-long learning skills, respect for themselves and others, passion to achieve their potential in academic and social goals and foster positive supportive relationships with peers and adults that support success.
The vision for students at Harris Bilingual Elementary School is that they will become life-long learners in an inspiring, challenging, positive and supportive environment. They will collaborate, promote social responsibility, and use organizational and time-management skills. Students will use critical thinking skills to make informed decisions about their goals, post-secondary plans, and career development.
